Someone asked me today what my views were on the difference, if any, between our position in Christ and our standing in Christ.
I answered as follows…….
My immediate reaction – and I haven’t ever considered it before – is in very general terms, the difference between blessings and authority.
One can be very blessed and have no authority whatsoever. A multimillionaire old lady has a degree of clout that her money can buy, she is in a sense blessed, but she has about as much authority as a dead fish! Her position is a blessed one, but her standing is very limited.
We on the other hand are seated in Christ and are blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ; at the same time we have His delegated authority on earth and in the heavens as we stand in the office of God’s children, covered in a robe of righteousness and standing in and on the authority of His name.
Just my initial thoughts!
